Tasti’s been made at home in New Zealand since 1932, and they’re nuts about all things Kiwi. So it makes sense they’re committed to preserving our national icon through their partnership with the Forest Lifeforce Restoration Trust.
The 200th Kiwi was ready to fly home, so to speak. And like lots of young Kiwi expats, he’d been away from the nest for a while. So we ran a Facebook competition asking our fans to nominate their missing loved ones for the chance to release and name our Kiwi.
What our winner didn’t know was that we’d secretly flown her son home and they’d be releasing the chick together. There wasn’t a dry eye in the forest when Lynda and Aaron Holswich were reunited. The heartwarming story was captured in a short documentary, by well-known NZ director James Anderson. The doco got mass coverage across news stations and an overwhelming response on social media. Watch and see how we did it.
